Pursue More Windows of Opportunities – Dr. Igwe Urges Egi Youth Federation, Charges Akabuka Youths on Skills Acquisition
StarThe leadership of the Egi Youth Federation (EYF), led by the President, Snr. Comr. Ikechukwu Amirize, alongside the Chairman of the Advisory Council, Dr. Anthony Harrison, paid a familiarization and appreciation visit to the CEO/Founder of Dr. Andrew A. Igwe Care Foundation, Dr. Andrew A. Igwe, at his Akabuka residence.
Speaking during the visit, the President of the apex youth body thanked Dr. Igwe for his warm reception and praised his humanitarian contributions to the people of Ogba land through his Foundation.
“You are one person in the entire Ogba land who has earned the people’s love and admiration because of your philanthropic, benevolent, and charitable nature. Many of our brothers and sisters have benefited from educational sponsorships, skill acquisition programs, entrepreneurial support, medical assistance, and other humanitarian services from your personal resources through your Foundation. This aligns with our vision for Egi people, which is why we have come to identify with you, appreciate you, and possibly partner with you,” Snr. Comr. Ikechukwu Amirize stated.
In his response, Dr. Igwe thanked the EYF leadership for the honour and encouraged the youth body to think creatively and explore multiple opportunities rather than depending on one source of livelihood.
“Our people have made it a norm to fish in one particular river, making it difficult for everyone to benefit because the river cannot contain all of us. Meanwhile, there are other rivers with bigger fishes that remain untouched. The world has changed, and we must encourage our youths to change their mindset in line with modern trends and realities. There are several high-income skills our youths should engage in,” Dr. Igwe said.
The Chairman of the Advisory Council, Dr. Tony Harrison, in his vote of thanks, addressed some of the concerns raised by the host and assured him that the Federation is making deliberate efforts to equip youths with entrepreneurial and vocational skills for self-reliance.
The visit ended on a joyful note with entertainment and social interaction among attendees.
Similarly, on Sunday, May 3, 2026, the leadership and members of Akabuka Youth Front paid a courtesy visit to Dr. A. A. Igwe at his residence in Akabuka Town.
The President of the group, Comr. Christian Ogbugo Nwaegwu, stated that the purpose of the visit was to familiarize themselves with Dr. Igwe and receive fatherly advice that would help move the association forward.
Dr. Igwe commended the youths for initiating and installing a free Wi-Fi system within the community. However, he advised them not to misuse the platform for cybercrime activities. He further encouraged the association to focus future projects on people-oriented, entrepreneurial, and skill-driven initiatives capable of supporting the local economy and creating sustainable opportunities for unemployed youths.
He reaffirmed his commitment to community development and pledged his willingness to partner with the youths in meaningful ventures whenever necessary.
The youths thanked Dr. Igwe for his encouragement and noted that his words had inspired them to do better.
