Egi Youth Federation Honours Dr. Andrew Igwe with Award of Excellence in Community Service

The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Dr. Andrew A. Igwe Care Foundation (DAAICF), Dr. Andrew Igwe, has been honoured with the Award of Excellence in Community Service by the Egi Youth Federation Worldwide (EYF) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to community development and humanitarian service.

The award was presented during the Federation's Memorial Day celebration held at the Obite Civic Centre, Egi, Rivers State, on October 4, 2025. The annual event is organized to commemorate the origins of the Federation, honour fallen heroes, celebrate achievements, and reflect on strategies for addressing present and future challenges facing the Egi people.

Representing Dr. Andrew Igwe at the event was a delegation from the Foundation led by the Director of Orientation and Enlightenment, who was accompanied by Dr. Chukwuemeka Nwokoji Nwokoji, Senior Special Assistant on Domestic Affairs to the Office of the Deputy Governor of Rivers State.

The recognition came barely two weeks after Dr. Igwe was honoured as an Ambassador of Peace by the Peace Advocacy Network, further underscoring his growing reputation as a champion of community service, peacebuilding, and humanitarian development.

The leadership of the Egi Youth Federation noted that Dr. Igwe's numerous interventions in education, youth empowerment, healthcare support, entrepreneurship, community development, and social welfare have made a significant impact on the lives of individuals and communities across Egi Kingdom and beyond.

Receiving the award on behalf of Dr. Igwe, Dr. Chukwuemeka Nwokoji expressed gratitude to the Federation for the honour and recognition.

He stated that the Dr. Andrew A. Igwe Care Foundation serves as the primary platform through which Dr. Igwe reaches out to communities and touches lives, emphasizing that the recognition equally belongs to the Foundation and its dedicated team.

According to him, such honours serve as encouragement to continue expanding the Foundation's humanitarian efforts and commitment to serving humanity.

“These recognitions are a pat on the back that inspire us to continue moving forward and even increase our efforts toward community development and social impact,” he remarked.

Members of the Foundation expressed appreciation to the Egi Youth Federation Worldwide for recognizing the value of selfless service and reaffirmed their commitment to initiatives that promote education, empowerment, healthcare, peace, and sustainable community development.
