DAAICF Pays Courtesy Visit to ONELGA Council Leadership Ahead of 15th Anniversary Celebration

The Dr. Andrew A. Igwe Care Foundation (DAAICF) paid a courtesy visit to the leadership of the Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA) on November 3, 2023, as part of activities leading up to the Foundation’s 15th Anniversary celebration.

The visit, which took place at the ONELGA Council Secretariat, was aimed at familiarizing the Foundation with the local government leadership and seeking their blessings and support as the Foundation marked fifteen years of dedicated service to humanity.

The Foundation’s delegation was led by its Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Andrew A. Igwe, alongside the Chaplain of the Foundation, Pastor Izu Eresia-Eke, Comrade Felix Dimkpa, and the Director of Media and Publicity, Goodwill Omere.

During the meeting, Dr. Igwe commended the leadership of the council for its efforts in maintaining peace and stability within the local government area, noting that meaningful development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace.

He further encouraged the council to remain committed to delivering the dividends of democracy to the people, emphasizing that community development is a continuous process.

Drawing an analogy from the popular literary character Oliver Twist, Dr. Igwe remarked that the people of ONELGA would always desire more development and improved services, urging leaders not to relent in their efforts to meet the needs of the people.

Representing the Council Chairman, Hon. Vincent Job, who was unavoidably absent, were key officials of the council, including:

• Hon. Ndulaka O. Oki, Council Scribe

• Dr. Umesi Chukwudi, Supervisor for Education

• The Chief of Staff to the Council Chairman

• Members of the ONELGA Media Team

• Other council officials

Speaking on behalf of the council, Hon. Ndulaka O. Oki expressed appreciation to Dr. Andrew Igwe and the Foundation for their unwavering commitment to humanitarian service.

He commended Dr. Igwe for choosing to invest his resources in uplifting vulnerable members of society rather than pursuing personal luxury. According to him, while Dr. Igwe may not be the wealthiest individual in Ogbaland, he has consistently used what he has to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the less privileged.

Hon. Oki further assured the Foundation of the council’s willingness to collaborate and partner on initiatives that would improve the welfare of residents and support community development.

Also speaking, Dr. Umesi Chukwudi, Supervisor for Education and former Leader of the ONELGA Legislative Assembly, acknowledged the Foundation’s numerous charitable interventions, particularly its annual scholarship programme, which has benefited students not only within ONELGA but also in neighboring local government areas.

He praised the Foundation’s commitment to education and youth development and called on other well-meaning sons and daughters of ONELGA to emulate its example. According to him, such interventions contribute significantly to reducing youth restiveness and promoting positive social development within the area.

The visit concluded with prayers offered by Pastor Izu Eresia-Eke and a group photograph session, symbolizing the cordial relationship between the Foundation and the local government leadership.

As DAAICF prepared to celebrate fifteen years of impact, the Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to supporting education, social welfare, community development, and humanitarian service.
