DAAICF Partners Federal College of Education (Technical), Omoku to Promote Academic Excellence

The Dr. Andrew A. Igwe Care Foundation (DAAICF) has initiated a partnership with the Federal College of Education (Technical), Omoku, aimed at promoting academic excellence and encouraging hard work among students.

A delegation from the Foundation, led by the Director of Administration, Dr. Elechi Owhoeke, paid a courtesy visit to the management of the institution on September 24, 2025, to formally present the Foundation's proposal for collaboration.

Speaking during the meeting, Dr. Owhoeke introduced the Foundation, highlighting its mission, achievements, and the philanthropic vision of its Founder and Financier, Dr. Andrew A. Igwe. He explained that the purpose of the visit was to establish a partnership that would recognize and reward outstanding academic performance among graduating students.

As part of the proposed initiative, the Foundation intends to institute annual awards and prizes for exceptional graduating students in the following categories:

  1. Overall Best Graduating Student of the College

  2. Best Graduating Student, School of Science Education

  3. Best Graduating Student, School of Technical Education

  4. Best Graduating Student, School of Vocational Education

According to Dr. Owhoeke, the initiative is designed to motivate students to pursue excellence in their academic endeavors while fostering a culture of diligence, discipline, and healthy competition within the institution.

The management of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Omoku, led by the Acting Provost, Dr. Ndu Amadike, expressed appreciation to the Foundation for the thoughtful initiative and welcomed the proposed partnership.

Dr. Amadike commended Dr. Andrew Igwe for his longstanding commitment to education through the Foundation's scholarship programme, which has provided financial support to over 135 indigent students in secondary and tertiary institutions annually for the past sixteen years.

He noted that the Foundation's interventions have positively impacted countless young people by helping them access quality education and become productive members of society.

“I will not say God will bless him because he is already blessed. Rather, wherever the resources are coming from will never run dry,” Dr. Amadike remarked while expressing gratitude for the Foundation's continued investment in education and human capital development.

The meeting, which took place at the Provost's Office, concluded with a photo session and discussions on strengthening collaboration between both institutions.
