DAAICF Celebrates 15 Years of Impact and Service to Humanity

The Dr. Andrew A. Igwe Care Foundation (DAAICF) marked a significant milestone on December 23, 2023, as it celebrated its 15th Anniversary with the theme: "15 Years of Supporting the Back Bones."

The landmark event brought together government officials, traditional leaders, academics, community stakeholders, beneficiaries, and well-wishers to celebrate fifteen years of dedicated service, humanitarian interventions, educational support, and community development.

In his welcome address, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Dr. Andrew A. Igwe, reflected on the humble beginnings of the Foundation, the challenges encountered over the years, and the numerous achievements recorded since its establishment.

He reaffirmed the Foundation's commitment to its core belief that "Every Child Must Be Educated," emphasizing that access to education should be a collective responsibility shared by all members of society.

Dr. Igwe called on well-meaning sons and daughters of the community to support educational advancement and youth development, stressing that investment in education remains one of the most effective pathways to building a peaceful and prosperous society.

Delivering the keynote lecture titled "A Signature in the Sands of Time," Associate Professor Obodoegbulam Agi-Otto highlighted the transformative power of education as a tool for personal growth and societal development.

He urged young people to reject the culture of entitlement and embrace hard work, discipline, and self-development, noting that sustainable success can only be achieved through dedication and purposeful effort.

Also speaking at the event, Dr. Chukwuemeka Nwokoji presented a brief history of Dr. Andrew Igwe, tracing the roots of his philanthropic spirit to his late father, who selflessly donated his carved community gong (Ekwe) for public use for over twenty-five years without seeking personal gain.

According to him, that spirit of service and generosity laid the foundation for what has grown into the Dr. Andrew A. Igwe Care Foundation.

In his goodwill message, the Chairman of the Occasion, Engr. Vincent Nnadi, the Ochuma-Ariri of Ogba Land, commended the Foundation and its Founder for their remarkable contributions to human capital development and social welfare.

He noted that no society can achieve meaningful progress without investing in the development of its people and praised the Foundation for consistently prioritizing education and empowerment.

The Executive Chairman of ONELGA, Hon. Vincent Job, JP, DSSRS, also applauded the Foundation's impact, stating that its contributions to human capacity development and social welfare have been exceptional and transformative.

He described DAAICF as a trailblazing initiative whose achievements have distinguished it as one of the most impactful philanthropic organizations in the area.

A major highlight of the celebration was the address delivered by the Deputy Governor of Rivers State and Grand Patron of the Foundation, Her Excellency, Professor Ngozi Nma Odu, DSSRS.

She commended the Foundation for its sustained efforts in poverty reduction, educational support, health awareness, social welfare programmes, human capacity development, and infrastructure projects aimed at improving the lives of people within and beyond Egi Kingdom.

She further encouraged individuals and organizations to emulate the Foundation's example by investing in initiatives that uplift communities and promote sustainable development.

The anniversary celebration also featured the presentation of Meritorious Awards to deserving individuals and groups in recognition of their outstanding contributions to humanity and community development.

Guests were treated to a rich display of cultural performances and entertainment, including appearances by Pope Ogbu Junior, the Egbukele Masquerade Dance, and Nde Ishiali Osa Ka Nde Ogba, among other performers who added colour and excitement to the occasion.

As the Foundation celebrates fifteen years of impactful service, it remains committed to its vision of empowering lives, promoting education, supporting vulnerable groups, and contributing to the overall development of society.
