Avoid Cultism and Bad Company, Dr. Igwe Advises Scholarship Beneficiaries
The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Dr. Andrew A. Igwe Care Foundation (DAAICF), Dr. Andrew A. Igwe, has advised beneficiaries of the Foundation's scholarship programme to remain focused on their studies, avoid cultism, and stay away from negative influences that could jeopardize their future.
Dr. Igwe gave the charge on September 20, 2025, while delivering his opening address during the Foundation's Annual Scholarship Payment Programme.
Addressing the students, he emphasized the importance of academic dedication, discipline, and good character, noting that involvement in cult-related activities and association with bad company can derail promising futures and hinder academic success.
He encouraged the beneficiaries to make the most of the opportunities provided through the scholarship scheme by concentrating on their education and pursuing excellence in all aspects of their lives.
Also speaking at the event, Pastor Lawrence Cookey-Gam delivered an inspiring sermon in which he urged the students to learn from the life and example of Dr. Andrew Igwe. He encouraged them to strive to become valuable contributors to their communities and society while embracing the spirit of service and generosity demonstrated by the Foundation's founder.
Pastor Cookey-Gam further challenged the beneficiaries to prepare themselves to carry on the legacy of charity, compassion, and community service in the future.
As part of efforts to encourage outstanding academic performance among scholarship recipients, Dr. Igwe presented an Academic Excellence Award to Miss Emmanuella Ekpete in recognition of her exceptional academic achievements and impressive academic results.
The award served as motivation for other beneficiaries to remain diligent and committed to their studies.
During the programme, several scholarship beneficiaries shared testimonies of how the Foundation's support has helped them overcome financial and academic challenges, enabling them to continue their education and pursue their dreams.
Many expressed gratitude to Dr. Andrew Igwe and the Foundation for the life-changing opportunities provided through the scholarship programme.
The event concluded successfully with prayers, words of encouragement, and renewed commitments by beneficiaries to excel academically and positively impact society.
The Foundation remains dedicated to supporting education, empowering young people, and nurturing future leaders through its various educational and humanitarian initiatives.
We give God all the glory for another successful Annual Scholarship Payment Programme.
Congratulations to all the beneficiaries.
